10/14/2012: Save the Date for the Annual Chili Cook-off!
The days are getting a little cooler and shorter and that wonderful smell of fall is in the air. That means it’s time for the Annual Dimmitt’s Grove Chili Cook-off! This year’s event will take place on Sunday, October 14th at 4:00 pm. Pam and Herb Eaton have graciously offered their beautiful yard again at 512 E. Taylor.
Once again we’ve invited Founder’s Grove and Downtown residents to attend and now that they’ve seen what great cooks we have in the neighborhood, they plan to bring their A game. So start digging through your recipes because once again there will be coveted aprons (along with bragging rights) for the winners of 3 categories: Spiciest, Most Unique and Best Overall. As usual, if cooking chili is not your thing we ask that you bring a side or desert to share. This year we’ll also be offering prizes for the best non-chili dishes as well.
So mark your calendars for 10/14 and make plans to come out, meet new neighbors, catch up with old friends and eat some excellent food in a beautiful setting.
