Minutes for January 8, 2026
Dimmitt’s Grove Neighborhood Association Meeting
President Brad Williams called the meeting to order at 6:03pm at AB Hatchery and Garden Center (916 East Grove Street). Thank you to Bill for hosting us and supplying us with fresh popcorn and beverages during the meeting.
Attendance: 16 DGNA members were present for the meeting; Brad Williams, Bill Inks, Neil Bailey, Karen D’Andrea, Steve Dauer, Nancy Dauer, Hollis Black, CJ Ledinsky, Noah Tang, Jon Stein, Cody Hendricks, Eric Hansen, Herb Eaton, Pam Eaton, Jim Ulavege, and Theresa Necessary. Introductions were made.
Theresa Necessary read the meeting minutes from November out loud as the meeting minute section on the website is under construction. They were approved by those in attendance. All other DGNA website updates are looking great.
Hollis Black reported that our treasury balance is $4,046.00
Old Business/Updates:
There was some discussion about the letters we sent to the City of Bloomington after WGLT asked us to respond to changes with the way housing code violations will be handled in the future and changes made to bulk waste pick-up and the Citizens Convenience Center. Brad Williams and Pam Eaton attended the meeting. Neighbors brought up some concerns and questions were answered by Alderman Cody Hendricks.
New Business:
No new updates from the sign committee until the warmer months come. CJ Ledinsky has plans for the four-foot-wide welcome sign we plan on installing off Oakland and Clayton streets.
Plans for a DGNA Winter Social were formulated at Josh and Adam’s house (206 South McLeans Street) on February 21st at 5:30pm.
We discussed planning another trash pick-up around the neighborhood with the help of Strong Towns Blono. Tentative date is Saturday, April 25th at 1:00pm.
Safety Concerns:
No major safety concerns to report. There was a car stolen recently from the gas station on the corner of Clinton and Oakland. Some unlocked cars were rummaged through earlier this month on South McLean Street. Be sure to lock your cars.
Our next DGNA meeting will be March 5, 2026 @6pm @CJ Ledinsky and Susan Rush’s house (516 South Clayton Street)
