March 2025 – Meeting Minutes
Secretary Theresa Necessary called the meeting to order at 6:00pm in the community room #2 of the Bloomington Public Library (205 East Olive Street).
Attendance: 5 DGNA members were present for the meeting; Hollis Black, Theresa Necessary, CJ Ledinsky, Noah Tang, and alderman Cody Hendricks. Introductions were made.
The meeting minutes from January were approved by those in attendance.
Treasurer Hollis Black reported that the treasurer balance = $3,504.15
Old Business/Updates:
The sign project continues to work on write-ups and the sub-committee met in February to go over idea of entryway signs at a few of the boundary corners. Similar locations for flea market signs, city ordinances, and a revised logo were all discussed. Hollis will help with a design and mock-up for review. They will meet again soon to go over more logistics.
No updates on the traveling social at this time. Warmer weather arriving by May, may help stir more interest. Until then the idea of a meet-up at Pour Bros. Craft Taproom (236 East Front Street) a certain Sunday of each month was suggested. Neighbors can informally gather at 2:00pm and visit. The first one will be April 13th.
New Business:
The neighborhood sales/flea market is traditionally set for the first Saturday in June (the 7th) 9am-3pm. If you are wanting to help organize or add your house to the map reach out to Theresa Necessary or Kelley Staub.
Plans are in the works to have the DGNA bake sale at the Downtown Farmer’s Market again in August. Theresa will have the date locked in by next meeting.
We would like to get a new neighborhood newsletter out soon to highlight upcoming events this summer.
The neighborhood trash clean-up will be held on Saturday, April 19th from 1-3pm.
Safety Concerns:
No new safety concerns to report.
Our next DGNA meeting will be May 1, 2025 @6pm @TBD…or in another community room at the Bloomington Public Library? The rooms are very nice!
Meeting was adjourned at 6:50pm by Theresa Necessary.
