July 2024 - Meeting Minutes

Vice President Jerica Etheridge called the meeting to order at 6:00pm at Pour Bros. Craft Taproom (236 East Front Street).
Attendance: 10 DGNA members were present for the meeting; CJ Ledinsky, Susan Rush, Heather Betts, Maurice Betts, Karen Schmidt, Hollis Black, Tori Fowler, Drake Fowler, Jerica Etheridge, and Theresa Necessary. Alderman Cody Hendricks and Eric Hansen were also present. Introductions were made.
The meeting minutes from May were approved by those in attendance.
The treasurer balance = $2,320.67
Treasurer Hollis Black also reported that the DGNA Venmo was up and running in time to assist with our bake sale and Day in Dimmitt’s Grove tickets.
Old Business/Updates:
The DGNA Flea Market was held on Saturday, June 1st. The rainy weather was not ideal for the few participating sales. But a big THANK YOU goes to Kelley Staub for her hard work in organizing.
New Business:
The DGNA Bake Sale will be at the Downtown Bloomington Farmers Market on Saturday, August 3rd. A Facebook event invite and e-mail will be sent this week. We need bakers and workers. Reach out to Theresa Necessary if you are interested in helping.
The sign project committee reported that their goal was to have the history for all signs updated by the Day in Dimmitt’s Grove event. Please contact Hollis Black with your history content for the website.
Historic Day in Dimmitt’s Grove is planned for September 8th from 12-4pm. The committee is meeting next week to finalize the map and brochures for the event.
No new reports from block captains.
No new concerns on the crime reports. There has been more foot traffic and panhandling in our neighborhood and the downtown area. Some issues continue with unleashed dogs going to the bathroom in yards.
Next meeting will be September 5, 2024 @6pm @TBD
