November 2023 - Meeting Minutes

Minutes for November 2, 2023 Dimmitt’s Grove Neighborhood Association Meeting

President Brad Williams called the meeting to order at 6:12pm at Green Top Grocery.
Attendance: 9 DGNA members were present for the meeting; Brad Williams, Karen Schmidt, Hollis Black, Pam Eaton, Herb Eaton, Theresa Necessary, Jim Ulavege, Susan Rush, and CJ Ledinsky. Introductions were made.
The meeting minutes from September were approved by those in attendance.
Treasurer Hollis Black reported our treasurer balance = $2,315.86
Old Business:
Thank you to CJ and Susan for hosting the Halloween Social. The Halloween decorations were great.
Thank you to Greg and Sarah for hosting the Chili Cookoff. It was a great time.
Neighbors compared the number of trick-or-treaters seen Halloween night. Susan and CJ’s decorations really put Dimmitt’s Grove on the map this year.
Conversations about zoning continued with concerns about what restrictions are placed upon a historic neighborhood. We plan to reach out to Cody Hendricks for more information about specific questions.
New Business:
No new updates on the sign project at this time.
A block captain reported that a house with problems within the limits was recently evicted.
More conversations were had about hosting another Day in Dimmitt’s Grove or some variation of past events. This was around 13 years ago with carriage rides, guided tours, garden walks, etc. There was a good amount of interest among those in attendance to help organize.
No new reports from Safety/Neighborhood Watch.
Next meeting will be January 4, 2024 @6pm @Green Top Grocery (921 E Washington)
