September 2023- Meeting Minutes

Minutes for Thursday September 7th, 2023 at 6pm 2023

The meeting was held at Block Captain Sarah/Gregg Hanzel's backyard/Farm at 601 E. Jackson St.

Attendance: 8 DGNA members were in attendance. Karen Schmidt, Brad Williams, Sarah & Gregg Hanzel, Jerica Etheridge, CJ Ledinsky, Bee Buckley, and Hollis Black.

Introductions were made

The meetings minutes from July were approved.

Sarah Hanzel explained that she had received an email from Program Manager with the City of Bloomington regarding the Lead-Based Paint Hazard Reduction Program. This email had not been forwarded to the neighborhood association. Jerica expressed that she would send this email out in a form suitable for our email program coming up and by the time of typing the minutes this has been completed.

Sarah Hanzel explained that she had received a phone call from Jill Mays with the City of Bloomington Public Works Water Dept. to see if she would be interested in collecting g a water sample to test for lead. She received this call at the end of July, Sarah did collect the sample and the results were in by the meeting. The results were 1.1ppb and well within the normal limits.

The neighbors then discussed the surgery and doctors appointments going on with Herb Eaton and his surgery. The neighbors were organizing meals etc upcoming.

The Upcoming Chili Cook-Off was discussed, the Hanzel's were going to hold the event but date had yet to be determined.

The October Social was discussed by CJ Ledinsky that she and Susan Rush will hold the event on Thursday October 12th at 6pm.

The next meeting will be November 2nd at Green Top Grocery at 6pm.
