Minutes for July 7, 2023 Dimmitt’s Grove Neighborhood Association Meeting
Vice-President Jerica Etheridge called the meeting to order at 6:02pm at Marie Litta Park.
Attendance: 9 DGNA members were present for the meeting; Karen Schmidt, Pam Eaton, Bee Buckley, Theresa Necessary, Jerica Etheridge, Hollis Black, Susan Rush, CJ Ledinsky, and Jamie Mathy. Introductions were made. And we tried to invite those enjoying the park pavilion to join us.
The meeting minutes from May were approved by those in attendance.
Treasurer Hollis Black reported our treasurer balance = $1970.86
Thanks to Mel Hunter for so many years of serving as the Treasurer. We will miss you but wish you all the best in Oregon.
Old Business:
The next social should be in July or August at the Garden of Eaton. More information to come soon.
The sign committee needs to meet again to ramp up some interest and organize what needs to be done to update the current website. There are still only four of twelve participants on the list so far. A Day in Dimmitts Grove or guided walking tour might spark some interest. We will check with Noah Tang to see if he found some houses with interesting history that owners are not aware of during his research.
Cody Hendricks was not present to give us an update on the R-D zoning changes.
New Business:
Thank you to Kelley Staub for her organization of the DGNA Flea Market on June 3rd.
The DGNA Bake Sale will be at the Downtown Bloomington Farmers Market on August 5th. An e-mail will be sent out and a Facebook event will be created soon. Reach out to Theresa Necessary if you are interested in helping.
No new reports from block captains.
Safety/Neighborhood Watch
There was a recent alert about a stolen vehicle on E Grove within our boundaries. Keep your doors locked and keep your eyes open to activity as several Hyundai and KIA vehicles have been stolen around town. Report any suspicious activity to the non-emergency police phone number. Stay vigilant for solicitors going door to door posing as Omaha Steak sellers. This activity was recorded on camera on E Taylor.
