Minutes for May 4, 2023 Dimmitt’s Grove Neighborhood Association Meeting

President Brad Williams called the meeting to order at 6:00pm at Green Top grocery.
Attendance: 17 DGNA members and 2 guests were present for the meeting; Brad Williams, Pam Eaton, Herb Eaton, Jim Ulavege, Karen Schmidt, Paul, Heather Betts, Maurice Betts, Bee Buckley, Theresa Necessary, Jonathan Stein, Hollis Black, Cody Hendricks, Frank Fowler, Tori Fowler, Susan Rush, CJ Ledinsky, Sarah Hanzel, and her sister. Introductions were made. And welcome to the new neighbors
The meeting minutes from March were approved by those in attendance.
The treasurer balance = $2,222.86
Old Business:
The next social should be in June. No date or location has been set yet.
The sign project only has four participants on the list so far. We need around 12 to do another round so if there is interest among neighbors that want a sign in their yard, please contact Hollis Black.
No additional issues with vacant properties right now. One property is no longer vacant and another one next door is going on the market soon. Cody Hendricks is checking on some questions brought up about the zoning changes.
A big thank-you to Sarah Hanzel and her hard work on the DGNA newsletter. As she organized the delivery of the newsletters it was noted that we need block captains for a handful of blocks currently.
New Business:
The DGNA Flea Market will be held on June 3rd. A Facebook event will be created soon. Reach out to Kelley Staub to get your sale on the map.
The DGNA Bake Sale will be at the Downtown Bloomington Farmers Market on August 5th. A Facebook event will be created soon. Reach out to Theresa Necessary if you are interested in helping.
No new reports from block captains.
No new concerns on the crime reports.
