Minutes for November 3, 2022 Dimmitt’s Grove Neighborhood Association Meeting
President Brad Williams called the meeting to order at 6:04pm at Diana Krieg’s residence. Thank you to Diana for hosting with her spooktacular fall decor.
Attendance: 11 DGNA members were present for the meeting; Brad Williams, Hollis Black, Karen Schmidt, Sarah Hanzel, Lori Paton, Pam Eaton, Brandon Gray, Theresa Necessary, Todd Harmon, Melanie Hunter, and Diana Krieg. Introductions were made.
Guests Jordan Baker (and Rachel) and Cody Hendricks were present to talk about why they are running for Ward 6. They attended to hear about current issues the DGNA is facing and told us about similar issues in surrounding neighborhoods where they live. They both support our efforts as a strong neighborhood association and preserving the downtown livelihood by addressing its issues.
The meeting minutes from September were approved.
Melanie Hunter reported that the treasurer balance = $1,677.24
Old Business:
The DGNA Chili Cook-off was a great time with a great turn-out. A big thank you is in order for the Hanzels for hosting.
Theresa Necessary reported that the DGNA Bake Sale 2.0 raised another $350, making the grand total for both sales this year = $851.00.
New Business:
The Social Committee reported that the next DGNA social will be in December. Location and time will be posted at a later date.
The DGNA website domain was renewed.
There was discussion over the DGNA sign project and the interest level of neighbors who want to add one to their property. If there is another group of 12+ we could use some funds to install them in the coming year. If you are interested contact Terri Clemens, Noah Tang, or Hollis Black.
It was also mentioned that funds for the placement of the award we received could also be researched (boulder, concrete, etc.) and placed at the park in the warmer months.
There was an increase in trick-or-treaters this year.
No major causes for concern on the monthly crime reports.
No new reports from block captains.
Next meeting will be January 5, 2023 @6pm @GreenTop grocery
Meeting was adjourned by President Brad Williams
