The July meeting of Dimmitt‘s Grove Neighborhood Association was held at Marie Litta Park on July 2 at 7 PM
Eleven neighbors were present. Steve Arney, representing City of Bloomington Public Works was there to explain the sewer project on Jackson St. $360.000 will be spent on 2 blocks of Jackson Street, where private sewers will not be closed. Most people won’t be required to hook up. Some will require ejector systems for basement plumbing and grants and financing will be available. Many questions were answered. Minutes were approved. Treasury is the same as last month. The Flea Market had 10 participants, good weather and lots of customers. The bake sale will be July 25 at Farmer’s Market. The Summer Traveling Social hour will be Friday evening Aug. 21 in the 400 block of Grove St. beginning at 6. The DGNA Chili Cook-off will be Oct. 4 from 4-7 at Eatons or the Gallery, with a voluntary food drive for Clare House. Founders Grove and Downtown Residents Associations will be invited.
The city is working on enforcing the vacant house ordinance. There was a drug arrest in the neighborhood this summer.
The next meeting will be at 503 E. Olive, at the home of Paul and Lacey Fritsch at 7 PM on Sept. 3.
