The September meeting of the Dimmitts Grove Neighborhood Association met at Marie Litta Park on Sept. 4. President Brad Williams called the meeting to order. Twelve neighbors and two guests were present. Minutes of past meetings were approved. After an addition of $413.55, Melanie reported the treasury total is $4913.55. Neighbors voted to purchase a good pop-up tent for events with a printed banner. Melanie will purchase it.
We heard from Vasudha Pinnamaraju, the director of the Regional Planning Commission about the city’s comprehensive plan and how our neighborhood might be able to work with the commission. They are trying to identify assets and challenges for Bloomington’s Comprehensive Plan. Brad will meet with her.
Welcome packets were passed out by Pam. The information box in Marie Litta Park needs maintenance. Pam will send Jerica a bullet point email for posting in the kiosk and for the printed newsletter.
The Chili Cook off will be Oct. 12 at 4PM at Eaton’s (412 E. Taylor) or at the gallery in case of rain. Founders’ Grove and Downtown neighborhoods will be invited. Three chilis will win prizes for Best Overall, Spiciest and Most Unusual. Prizes will be awarded for best side dish and dessert.
LOCK YOUR CARS at night to prevent vandalism. Next meeting will be Nov. 6 at Jerica’s house at 407 S. Jackson. (Jackson and Evans.)
