The days are getting a little cooler and shorter and that wonderful smell of fall is in the air. That means it’s time for the Annual Dimmitt’s Grove Chili Cook-off! This year’s event will take place onSunday, October 12th at 4:00 pm. Pam and Herb Eaton have graciously offered their beautiful yard again at 512 E. Taylor (in case of rain/cold, we’ll relocate to Eaton Gallery).

Once again we’ve invited Founder’s Grove and Downtown residents to attend and from previous years we know they’ve got some good cooks so we’ll need to bring our A game if don�t want to get trounced in our own neighborhood! So start digging through your recipes because once again there will be coveted aprons (along with bragging rights) for the winners of 3 categories: Spiciest, Most Unique and Best Overall. As usual, if cooking chili is not your thing we ask that you bring a side or desert to share. Once again, we’ll be offering prizes for the best non-chili dishes as well.

So mark your calendars for 10/12 and make plan to come out, meet new neighbors, catch up with old friends and eat some excellent food in a beautiful setting.
