September, 2013

The September meeting of the Dimmitts Grove Neighborhood Association was brought to order by President Brad Williams at 702 E. Grove St. on Sept. 5 at 7pm. Twelve neighbors were present. Last meeting’s minutes had not been posted, so approval was tabled. There was no treasurer’s report.

The Chili Cook-off will be Oct. 20 at 4pm at the home of Herb and Pamala Eaton at 512 E. Taylor St. Bring chili, a side or a dessert and win a prize or just enjoy visiting with neighbors and our guests from Founders Grove and the Downtown Neighborhood Associations. If it rains, we will re-locate to Eaton Gallery.

The Day in Dimmitts Grove has an ongoing committee, working on making smaller more frequent events. If you are interested in helping, contact Jerica.

Luminaries were tabled, as we don’t know the date for the mansion tour.

The winter social hour will be hosted by Emily and Carlo Robustelli, Dawn Peters and Diana Krieg, and Gary Justis and LJ Douglas, on a date to be announced later.

Brad Williams attended a focus group with the police chief. Someone has been seen checking doors of dark houses. Keep those porch lights on at night for your own safety and to light the neighborhood.

Next meeting will be at 407 S. Evans, hosted by Jerica Etheridge on the first Thursday of November.
